Body builder Greg Plitt was struck and killed by a train in Burbank, Calif. on Jan. 17 at the age of 37.

Body builder Greg Plitt was killed at age 37 on Saturday, Jan. 17, NBC Los Angeles reports. The star of Bravo's Work Out and the new show Friends to Lovers was hit by a Metrolink train in Burbank, Calif., and his death is believed to have been an accident, according to the authorities.

The fitness expert was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident, which occurred just after 4 p.m. PT. 

Plitt's Friends to Lovers castmate Charley Cullen Walters tells Us Weekly, "The whole cast is shaken up as we just had our premiere party the other night and were so excited about Greg and Melanie joining the show mid-season. I hope people still get to know what a great guy he was via those episodes and his fitness legacy."

Bravo veteran Andy Cohen tweeted about the loss on Jan. 18, writing, "We couldn't take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on 'Work out' – was as nice as he was beautiful. Seemed invincible, like Superman." 

Plitt also appeared on Bravo's new show Friends to Lovers, which premiered on Jan. 12.
