Tweens have nothing on twigs.
FKA twigs has opened up for the first time about her relationship with Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, explaining that the negative backlash she has endured can't bring her down.
"I really enjoy the fun of putting something out and people liking it or hating it or talking about it, but vacuous attention, it feels disgusting. It's like a hangover," the 26-year-old singer-songwriter told USA Today.
"It's weird, I know that's not really because of me or what I'm doing," the "Two Weeks" singer added, but "the positivity that I get from (my relationship) makes the more challenging aspects…very worth it."
Us Weekly broke news in early September that twigs (real name: Tahliah Debrett Barnett) and the fellow Brit, 28, are dating. The couple kept mum about their relationship — that is, until the London-based singer was pummeled with racist abuse online from Pattinson's younger fans.
"I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week," FKA twigs tweeted at the time. "Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it's unacceptable online." She now adds to USA Today: "[They're] 14-year-old kids that should be in bed."
Nevertheless, the backlash hasn't slowed them down. An insider previously told Us that the pair "connect on music" and "he loves her voice." Pattinson also dropped by — with roses in hand — to support the former backup dancer at her sold-out NYC show at Manhattan's Terminal 5 on Nov. 8.
