Ellen Page is so happy since coming out as gay on Valentine's Day this year, she's literally crying with happiness.
The Juno star wept as she told the Hollywood Reporter, "I knew I would be happier. But I wouldn't have anticipated just how f–king happy I am and how every tiny little aspect of my life feels better."
The 27-year-old actress' decision to come out at the Human Rights Campaign's Time to THRIVE conference in Las Vegas on Feb. 14 was a long time coming, and columnist Dan Savage was the catalyst, she revealed.
"He was like, 'It's a social responsibility and a moral imperative,'" Page said. "And I was like, 'You're right. You're really intense—but you're right.'"
The morning after the biggest night of her life, Page returned to the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was shooting in Montreal. The actress knew her life had changed forever.
"I can remember sitting behind monitors with Hugh Jackman," she shared with the mag. "And he was like, 'You seem so different already!' And I was like, 'I feel different already.'"
Page also talked candidly about the battle she'd been fighting against depression in the years before her brave declaration.
"I was sad, honestly," she said. "And obviously that's a very personal thing to say, but I say it to encourage whatever other people are feeling. Very sad, isolated, a lot of anxiety. No more."
The Inception actress, who is currently single, says she's ready and waiting for the chance to meet the perfect woman.
"I'm so stoked to get married," she admitted. "I'm such a romantic, it's awful. And I don't think I'd want to make a kid, but I'd love to raise one. I'd love to raise a kid."
