The New York Times Magazine had an interesting question for the universe on Friday, Oct. 23 — could you, or would you, kill a baby Hitler?
The publication, which is usually known for its more serious tone, posted a tweet on Friday afternoon: “We asked @nytmag readers: If you could go back and kill Hitler as a baby, would you do it? (What’s your response?)”

An infographic shaped like a baby’s rattle accompanied the unusual question, with 42 percent of readers saying yes, 30 percent saying no, and 28 percent saying they weren’t sure.
According to USA Today, the NYT Mag’s digital deputy editor, Charles Homans, confirmed that the question was part of the magazine’s “Dear Reader” feature.

Twitter users quickly jumped on the post, contributing their own snarky answers to the online shenanigans.

But perhaps the best response of all came from T Magazine, the New York Times’ fashion bible.
“@NYTmag would appreciate a response from @tmagazine rn thx,” the NYT Mag tweeted, to which the T Magazine account replied, “who dis?”
