Constantine Maroulis is in hot water. According to Steve Mandel, the attorney of Maroulis’ girlfriend, Angelina Reed, the American Idol alum, 39, allegedly violated an order of protection placed against him after an incident at the couple’s home on Aug. 11, and is scheduled to be arrested.
Reed, who is the mother of Maroulis’ 4-year-old daughter, Malena, claims Maroulis sent her inappropriate emails after the alleged Aug. 11 altercation.
Maroulis’ rep tells Us Weekly, “Constantine accidentally sent her an email last night. It’s truly a non-issue. To the best of my understanding, he was doing a lot of emails late at night, and she accidentally got included on a list. He has no interest in being in touch with her. His only interest is in seeing his child as soon as he can."
Last week, Reed called the police on Maroulis who was arrested near their Wyckoff, N.J. home.
Reed alleges that Maroulis “flew into a rage, grabbed her by her hair, and threw her violently to the floor” after she accused him of having an affair with a married mother of a child at their daughter’s school. She also said that after landing on the floor, she was kicked twice in the groin by Maroulis, which resulted in injuries and bleeding.
Reed’s lawyer claims police took photographic evidence of her injuries.
Maroulis’ rep previously told Us that the musician was simply protecting himself after Reed allegedly attacked him.
“Mr. Maroulis told Angelina Reed, his live-in girlfriend and mother of their 4-year-old child, that he was leaving her because of her continued instability,” the rep said in a statement. “She became angry and began attacking him. During the course of the attack she hit him with her fists and threw numerous objects at him. He sustained a bruise and cut on his right thigh.”
The rep went on to deny that Reed’s alleged injuries were a result of his client’s actions.
“He did not throw her to the ground or kick her in the groin during this incident,” the rep said. “He consequently left their home to protect himself and to diffuse the situation. Some time later the local police came and arrested him for domestic abuse. He paid a small bail and was released.”
