Ciara is officially a Wilson! The “Goodies” singer took her new husband Russell Wilson’s last name when they tied the knot on July 6, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback gushed to Us Weekly on Thursday, July 14, at the Kids Choice Sports awards in Los Angeles.
“I’m excited about it. C and I both are crazy in love with one another,” the athlete told Us of their recent nuptials in England. “She’s such a special person, and she can do it all.”
The newlyweds, who got engaged in March 2016, felt married prior to exchanging their vows, but are excited for what comes with a marriage.
“I get to wear this wedding ring now, which is exciting,” Wilson, 27, continued to Us. “She gets to wear hers and all that stuff. So that’s really about the only thing [that’s different.] And her last name’s Wilson now, so that’s kind of cool. I like that, Mrs. Wilson.”
The couple made their red carpet debut as Mr. and Mrs. Wilson at the 2016 ESPYs on Wednesday, July 13.
“There’s too many best parts,” the 30-year-old songstress told ESPN on Wednesday while chatting about their big day. “But the personal moments that we had superseded all of that for me. It was one of the most perfect days in all of my life.”
Ciara was previously engaged to rapper Future and shares a son, Future Jr., with him. Wilson was previously married to Ashton Meem from 2012 to 2014.
