No comment. Ciara refused to say her ex-fiancé Future’s name while announcing the 2016 Billboard Award nominees on Good Morning America on Monday, April 11.
The “Love Sex Magic” singer, who is now engaged to NFL player Russell Wilson, was reading off the list of nominees alongside cohost Ludacris when she suddenly stopped speaking halfway through announcing the Best Rap Artist nods. The actor-rapper, 38, jumped in to say the “Stick Talk” rhymer’s name before Ciara would finish the category.
The “I’m Out” singer filed a $15 million defamation and slander lawsuit against her ex in February. In the lawsuit, Ciara refers to Future’s aggressive tweets, including the time the rapper called her a “bitch” with “control problems,” as well as a July 2015 interview with The Breakfast Club as examples.
Reps for both Ciara and Future had no comment at the time.
The exes, who are parents to 23-month-old son Future Jr., called off their engagement in August 2014. Ciara got engaged to Wilson in March.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 22.
