Chris Rock doesn’t hold back in his first stand-up special in nearly a decade. The comedian admitted in Netflix’s newly released Chris Rock: Tamborine that he cheated on Malaak Compton, his wife of 18 years, with three women on tour before the former couple’s 2016 divorce.
“The last few years have been crazy for me,” the 53-year-old told the audience. “Don’t clap for that s–t unless you’re a lawyer! You don’t wanna get divorced. You got somebody you love? Hold tight, commit.”
He continued, “It’s my fault because I’m a f–king a–hole. I didn’t listen. I wasn’t kind. I had an attitude. I thought, ‘I pay for everything, I can do what I want.’ That s–t don’t f–king work. I just thought I was the s–t. I didn’t play the tambourine.”
Rock filed for divorce from Compton, 48, in December 2014 and finalized the case nearly two years later. The exes share daughters Lola, 15, and Zahra, 13.
“When guys cheat, it’s like we want something new. But then you know what happens? Your woman finds out and now she’s new. She is never the same again. So now you have new, but you had a bad new,” the Saturday Night Live alum said in Tambourine. “Some of these lessons you’ve just got to learn. Like, I brought this s–t on myself. Nobody told me to go ho up. I brought this s–t on myself, and you’ve got to learn some lessons, some man lessons.”
Rock also discussed his addiction to pornography. “When you start watching porn, any porn will do,” he said. “Then, later on, you’re all f–ked up and you need a perfect porn cocktail to get you off. I was so f–ked up. … I’m a lot better now.”
The comic was last linked to actress Megalyn Echikunwoke.
