His pals are giving the stamp of approval! Chris Hemsworth chimed in on his Thor: Ragnorak costar Tom Hiddleston’s romance with Taylor Swift. The couple have been in Australia since July 7, where he is filming the latest installment of the action series.
Hemsworth, 32, called into Australian radio show, Fitzy & Wippa, on Friday, July 15, and the hosts asked him if Swift has stopped by set. “I haven’t actually met her. I think they only got here three or four days ago,” he said.
However, Hemsworth, who shares daughter India, 4, and twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, 2, with Elsa Pataky, did reveal that his pal seems to be excited about his new relationship. “I’ve seen Tom around. He looks happy, mate, you know,” Hemsworth said. The two actors play brothers, Thor and Loki, in the film series based on the Marvel comic books.
If the “Wildest Dreams” singer does visit the set, Hemsworth has a special request for her. “I’ll ask her just to sing a few songs. I’ll just hand her the guitar in between setups with the camera,” he joked. “I’ll be like, ‘Off you go.’ A couple tunes would be nice.”
Although the Australian hunk organized a group trip for Hiddleston and friends to see his new film, Ghostbusters, it seems he has yet to cross paths with Swift.
“Chris Hemsworth bought a round of tickets for Ghostbusters and a group of us went to see it,” Hiddleston told Variety on Thursday after receiving his first Emmy nomination for his work on AMC’s The Night Manager. “It’s been a great day: I got to play on set with Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth, went to see Ghostbusters, and then I got nominated for an Emmy.” Hiddleston praised Hemsworth’s comedy, and called the actor “one of my best friends.”
The same day, the British actor cleared up any rumors surrounding his relationship with Swift. “The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, after a whirlwind month of traveling around the world to Nashville, England, Italy, L.A. and now Australia, the couple is getting serious. “Tom is planning to propose very soon,” an insider told Us.
