Bestie’s got your back! Jennifer Aniston’s BFF Chelsea Handler called Angelina Jolie a not-so-savory name during a preview segment of her late-night talk show on Wednesday, September 21, following the news of Jolie’s split from Aniston’s ex Brad Pitt. Watch the moment in the clip above!
“Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married,” the 41-year-old comedian said. “And I always said I wouldn’t get married until they got divorced, so I’m officially accepting proposals. I’m ready.”
The outspoken talk show host also addressed the speculations swirling around what went wrong in Jolie and Pitt’s relationship.
“There are rumors that part of the problem was that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed,” she said. “I wonder why he would need to self-medicate? Maybe because he could have been spending the last 12 years at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids speaking 15 different languages. Oh yeah, because he married a f–king lunatic, that’s why.”
Pitt, 52, famously began seeing Jolie, 41, in 2004 while costarring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith — while the actor was still married to Aniston, 47. Pitt and Jolie had a high-profile relationship but quietly tied the knot in August 2014 at their estate in France.
Mocking Jolie’s statement to the press following her divorce filing, Handler hinted that she’s still got more to say on the topic.
“But we should all respect their privacy during this very difficult time,” she said. “So this will be the last time I speak of this on TV. You can follow me on Twitter.”
Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, September 20, that Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and asking for sole physical custody of their six children. Pitt wants to fight Jolie for joint physical custody of their kids.
