There would have been a lot of candles to blow out in Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ home on Sunday, September 25.
The couple celebrated their joint birthday, and the actress took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of her kissing him on the cheek.
“A birthday kiss for my hubby,” Zeta-Jones captioned the happy snap.”Happy birthday to you and me.”
She turned 47 and her beau rang in his 72nd year.
Zeta-Jones and Douglas will also celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary in November, and they revisited the site where he proposed in Aspen, Colorado, earlier this year.
In March, she posted a picture to social media of the pair — who have two children, Carys, 13, and Dylan, 16 together — wrapped up and hugging in front of a snowy mountain backdrop.
Their relationship hasn’t been all plain sailing, though. In 2013 they broke up for a few months before getting their marriage back on track.
“It’s a long road and I think people today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage,” the Chicago beauty told Good Housekeeping magazine in 2015. “You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises, because that won’t be the last problem. There will be many more down the road.”
She also insisted: “You have to keep the home fires burning!”
