It may not be the summer hit of the year, but Carly Rae Jepsen‘s latest viral video is definitely entertaining. The 27-year-old Canadian singer was given the honors of throwing out the first pitch of the game at the showdown between the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, July 14, but Jepsen’s attempt fell just short of the home plate.
In a video that has since been circulating on the web, Jepsen prepares to throw the pitch but ultimately chucks the ball halfway between the plate and the mound, where it then rolls slowly across the first base line and bounces off a cameraman’s bag.
The Canadian-born “Call Me Maybe” singer was a good sport about the goof, however, and simply covered her face with her hands and giggled before throwing her hands up in surrender as the catcher chased after the errant ball.
“A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg,” Jepsen later posted a series of photos on her Instagram account.
This isn’t the first time that Jepsen has lent a hand at a baseball game, however. The singer previously lobbed the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game in April, which ended up being a strike.
