Comedian Bryan Safi, whose podcast Throwing Shade — you guessed it — throws shade at people, places, and things, recently chatted with Us Weekly’s Travis Cronin to talk about reality and Instagram stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner. In the video, the Emmy Award-winning writer dishes his surprisingly positive opinion on the spotlighted sisters.
When chatting about Kylie’s 18th birthday, Cronin listed three of her most extravagant presents. Rapper Tyga, Kylie’s boyfriend, gave her a red Mercedes G-Class Wagon, a Ferrari, and a diamond watch. Safi humorously replied, “That’s it? Only three gifts?”
Cronin also outright asked, “Shade or no shade: Kylie Jenner?” Safi confidently replied, “No shade.” Noting her recent confession that she uses temporary lip fillers to plump her pout, he added, “That took a lot of guts. I think that took the most guts that any Jenner has ever done to say, ‘No I fill them.’”
Safi went on to say, “I root for Kendall and Kylie, and I think it’s so amazing how they’ve been with Caitlyn [Jenner]. It’s hard to throw them shade. I can’t imagine being in that circumstance.”
