From one Batman to another! Ben Affleck revealed that he got some very useful advice from Christian Bale shortly after it was announced that he was to play the caped crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Talking at the New York premiere for the much anticipated movie, Affleck, 43, told Us Weekly that Bale, who himself was Batman until he chose to end his tenure as the Dark Knight in 2012, had given him one piece of advice when they met up.
“I ran into him at a costume shop when we were both buying costumes for our kids and we talked,” Affleck told Us as he walked the red carpet at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, March 20.
His one piece of advice? “Make sure they put a zipper in the suit!”
Bale, 42, has admitted previously that although he had decided to walk away from his superhero alter ego, he did experience some jealousy when he first discovered Affleck had won the new role.
“I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, ‘Oh go on … Let’s do another,'” Bale told Empire magazine. “So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour.”
“But I’m 40,” he said at the time. “The fact that I’m jealous of someone else playing Batman … I think I should have gotten over it by now.”
