Just two girls, hanging out! Wizards of Waverly Place alum Bailee Madison, who starred on the show alongside Selena Gomez, told Us Weekly exclusively that her hangout sessions with the “Wolves” singer are just like any other friends’.

“We’re all girls and at the end of the day, we like to talk about what we’re going through and be there for one another, just like any other girl session,” Madison, 19, told Us at the Hallmark winter 2019 press tour event at the Tournament House in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, February 9. “I think she’s been through everything and more and has been so authentic and wonderful on the way up. And as a 19-year-old just trying to navigate the business, it’s lovely to get to have someone like that to look up to.”

The Good Witch actress has been looking up to the 13 Reasons Why executive producer, 26, since she joined the cast of their hit Disney show in 2011. “She’s lovely,” she gushed of the American Music Award winner. “I did Wizards with her when I was little, and she’s been like a wonderful role model, mentor and big sis to get to look up to.”

The Losing Brave author is there for her mentor, as well: She took to the trails in Big Bear Lake, California, with Gomez on December 18 after the “Back to You” crooner finished treatment for her mental health.

Us reported that the Hotel Transylvania star checked into an East Coast psychiatric facility in October after multiple hospital visits that resulted in a reported “emotional breakdown.”

She thanked fans for their support upon her release on January 14. “Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.”
