From roses to wedding bells! Rachel Lindsay and fiancé Bryan Abasolo are looking forward to planning their nuptials and starting a family very soon.

Us Weekly caught up with the reality TV couple on Saturday, April 21, at Lindsay’s 33rd birthday party at the Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia. The pair, who got engaged on The Bachelorette season 13 finale in August 2017, revealed their excitement about having children together.

“We want to either have kids next year or start actively planning to have kids next year,” the Dallas-based attorney told Us. “We literally just had this conversation last night … It’s surreal though that we had a conversation about kids. Like, it’s crazy to me because I’m, like, we’re actually going to start having children! It’s crazy to me to start thinking about that but exciting at the same time. I do want four. Bryan wants to have as many as we can afford.”

The former bearer of red roses added that the duo both want boys. “I don’t know why I like big families, but I have to also be real about me and my age and where I am,” Lindsay admitted. “Maybe we’ll adopt, we’ll see.”

However, in the meantime, Abasolo, a chiropractor, and the sports broadcaster are focused on planning their dream wedding. Lindsay addressed reports that they will tie the knot on TV. “We met on TV, fell in love on TV, we put our relationship out there and I think the full circle moment is to get married on TV,” she explained, noting that December 1st would be their ideal date. “So that’s not in our hands, it’s not in our control. So the reason we haven’t started wedding planning is because, is it going to be televised or not? We don’t have [the answers right now] and I’ve told people honestly, what was so important to me after the show was building the foundation we have.”

“So now that we’ve done that, we’re like, ‘OK, it’s been a year, we’re open to whatever possibilities.’ So ideally, we’d like to get married on TV. Again, that’s not in our control,” she continued. “So we’ll see. We haven’t started [planning]. I know the wedding will either be in Columbia or Dallas. We do know that.”

Although Lindsay previously revealed to Us her desire to wear a suit on the special day, she has since been talked out of the idea. “His mother and my mother are like, ‘You’re wearing a dress,’” she said.

The bride-to-be also shared the advice she passed onto Becca Kufrin, who will star as season 14’s Bachelorette. “I told her to trust her gut. I said, like, ‘Be open, you have to be, because I had my guard up in the beginning.’ … Don’t listen to outside noise. Trust in what you want for yourself and what you’re feeling. Nobody knows your relationship like you do and you have to do that.”

The Bachelorette season 14 premieres on ABC May 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
