Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss said on Sunday, March 20, that JoJo Fletcher, who is currently filming her upcoming season of ABC’s The Bachelorette, is intent on finding love like her ex Ben Higgins and his fiancée, Lauren Bushnell.
Fleiss, 51, revealed last week that Fletcher had already eliminated five guys and shared her first kiss. The executive producer also welcomed season 18 Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis to join Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette (because, hello, drama).
“JoJo still has 20 great guys from which to choose. I think she’s gonna find love…” Fletcher tweeted last Thursday, March 17. “Today’s update: JoJo and the remaining 20 men are all in bed. Don’t get any crazy ideas. It was a long night. #wrongsideofsunrise.”
On Friday, Fletcher went on her first one-on-one date. “JoJo is taking this very seriously,” Fleiss tweeted of the Texas native, who got her heart shattered on the season 20 finale of The Bachelor last Monday, March 14. “She really did love @benhiggi and wants what Lauren has…”
Higgins memorably told both Fletcher and Bushnell that he loved them, which resulted in backlash. During the live After the Final Rose special, Fletcher recalled the aftermath of her split from Higgins. “I think that day I had gone into the day getting ready and being really excited, and I had mentally prepared myself to get engaged to Ben and start my life with him,” she told Bachelor host Chris Harrison. “I think my heart just dropped.”
Luckily, she has her pick of dozens of guys, many of whom came to the show sporting facial hair. “So many dudes with beards…” Fleiss tweeted on Friday. “JoJo is gonna break out the straight edge and shave one of these guys!”
On Saturday, March 19, Fletcher enjoyed her first group date. “The first group date was hot, hot, hot!!! #makeAmericahotagain,” Fleiss previewed. “Hot like, en fuego! #makeamericahotagain.”
Fleiss explained on Sunday, March 20, why he’s been live-tweeting the next season, which premieres in May.
