After the final rose!
Former Bachelor Ben Higgins and fiancée Lauren Bushnell are returning to reality TV. The 28-year-old star of the ABC dating series and his bride-to-be, 26, will film an unscripted show beginning this summer about their life in Denver. Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After will air on the Freeform network sometime in the fall.

“After you walk away from The Bachelor, it’s not like your life becomes private. People still find out what you’re doing, so it’s not changing our life to be public,” Higgins explains exclusively to Us Weekly about their decision to do the show.
Bushnell agrees. “We’re already used to sharing our lives with everyone else,” she says, “so we thought, Why not? It’s a fun way to share life after The Bachelor.”
Since Bushnell moved into Higgins’ home in April — four months after they taped the proposal on the ABC hit — the pair have rolled with a new reality: domesticity. “Starting a life together is never going to be this supersmooth transition,” says Higgins. “It’s going to have rocky edges at times, but I love coming home to her at the end of the day.”
The pair admit they bicker about silly stuff, such as redecorating. “He’s like, ‘Why do we need a new couch? We have a couch!’ So that’s been a point of contention,” says Bushnell.
Higgins may also show a more serious side. The software sales rep confirms he’s considering running as a Republican for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives this November. “I’ve always had an interest in politics,” he says. “I do a lot of work with a nonprofit called Humanity & Hope United [which aids struggling towns]. People reach out to me about community development and planning and how to counsel places that need help. At its core, that’s politics — dealing with issues we face as a community.”
Though the political run isn’t set in stone, one thing is certain: The series will show the couple as they plan their wedding. “Our life has been a whirlwind,” says Bushnell. “That is really something we want to focus on over the next few months.”
