Hello, Adele, and welcome back! The British singer-songwriter is coming out with her long-awaited third studio album next month, and debuted the music video for her first single, "Hello," on Friday, Oct. 23. She opened up about the new album, 25, with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe.
"I think this will be my last age one," she said on Friday. "I feel like the idea of naming albums after my age is always to show a photograph of what’s going on in my life [at that time]. I feel like not that much is going to change profoundly in me from now on, in terms of how important years of my life are to myself."
Adele's first two albums were called 19 and 21, and were mainly about heartbreak. This time, Adele says she's made a "make-up record." It will be released on Nov. 20.
"I’m sure I’m wrong with this, but I feel like there’s been a massive change in me in the last couple of years, having become a parent, and me and all my friends suddenly living grown-up lives and having responsibilities we haven’t had before," Adele, 27, told Lowe. "I feel like how I feel about myself is how I’m going to feel about myself forever."
Adele and her partner, Simon Konecki, welcomed baby boy Angelo in October 2012. The singer took some time off from the spotlight after giving birth, which made her even more nervous to return to the studio.
"I was struggling to write my record, so it all slowed down. Obviously, I took a bit of time off because I became a mum," she told BBC Radio 2 on Friday. "Then when I thought I was ready to start writing I wasn't. So I took some more time off. And then I was ready. So a couple of times I thought I'd dried up."
