Giving it up. Adele revealed on Friday, December 18, that she finally quit smoking, saying she probably would have died if she hadn't.
"If I'd carried on smoking, I'd probably have died from a smoking-related illness, and I think that's really bad," the “Hello” singer, 27, told The Mirror. “If I was dying from lung cancer, I would have potentially given it to myself, and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of."
The Grammy winner had been smoking 25 cigarettes a day, the Mirror reports, until she was forced to cancel shows in 2011 after losing her voice.
Last month, the 25 songstress — mom of 3-year-old son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki — opened up about quitting smoking to Rolling Stone, adding that her family played a larger role in her decision.
“I absolutely loved it [smoking], but it’s not that f–king cool when I’m dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated,” she said.
The British star certainly has a lot to look forward to: She recently sold out tour dates in the United States, her first in five years, just a few weeks after announcing her European tour.
