Justin Hartley is best known as ridiculously hot and slightly self-consumed Kevin Pearson on This Is Us. It’s a role that has earned him cool points with his 13-year-old daughter, Isabella. But the actor says there’s no way she’ll catch him in raunchy comedy A Bad Moms Christmas (out November 3) where he plays a firefighter who moonlights as an erotic dancer.
“If she saw this . . . I’d probably be apologizing to a judge,” Hartley joked at the movie’s L.A premiere on Monday, October 30. As Amazon’s Alexa made it snow on the red carpet (watch below), Hartley got real about fatherhood.
“Parenting is like golf. It’s like a series of errors. You try to make them as small as you possibly can,” he explained. “There’s no perfect sort of way to do it. My daughter’s great though. She helps me through everything. She really does. We do it together.”
Of all his roles, Hartley takes being a dad most seriously. When asked about the last time he had to apologize to Isabella, Hartley revealed that he was five minutes late to pick her up from school. “It was traffic, man,” he said. “I was there. I don’t want her to ever think that I”m not going to do something I say I am going to do.”
Hartley shares Isabella with ex wife, Lindsay Hartley. He wed his fiancee, soap opera actress Chrishell Strause, in an an elegant ceremony on Saturday, October 28. Several of his This Is Us costars were on hand to celebrate the occasion including Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz and Milo Ventimiglia.
