An easy mixup! A couple who was leaving Lindo Wing after welcoming their child were surprised to find themselves posing in front of photographers who were there preparing to capture Duchess Kate and Prince William and their new bundle of joy.
The photographers began snapping photos of the new parents in front of the Lindo Wing entrance at St. Mary’s hospital in London on Monday, April 23, as they made their way out of the facility. The unsuspecting pair were all smiles as TV crews and photographers snapped photos of them as they held their new baby in a car seat. Another couple also seized the opportunity and stopped to pose for photos holding their newborn.
The members of the media from all over the world set up their equipment in front of the hospital after Duchess Kate was admitted there early in the morning to give birth to her baby boy. William, 35, and Kate, 36, are set to make their debut with their third child as they did previously with their two children. They also welcomed their two kids Princess Charlotte, 2, and Prince George, 4, in the private wing.
Kensington Palace confirmed the royal baby’s arrival early Monday via Twitter. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.,” the palace shared. “The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The royal couple, who tied the knot in April 2011, announced that they were expecting another child in September. The Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance after announcing her pregnancy at the reception for World Mental Health Day in October 2017. Earlier in her pregnancy, she was placed on bed rest after struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is an acute morning sickness that she also experienced while pregnant with their other two children.
