A new nephew! Prince William and Duchess Kate gushed about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s royal baby’s arrival.
“[We’re] absolutely thrilled and looking forward to seeing them in the next few days as things quiet down,” the Duke of Cambridge, 36, told press on Tuesday, May 7, at a King’s Cup Regatta event in London. “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”
After saying he had “plenty of advice” for his brother, 34, the royal added: “I wish him all the best and hope the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in their family and all the joys that come with that.”
While the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, admitted that the early weeks of parenthood can be “daunting the first time around,” she went on to say, “It’s such a great time to have a baby. Spring is in the air. It’s pretty great. As William said, we look forward to meeting him and what his name’s going to be. It’s really exciting for both of them.”
Meghan, also 37, and Harry welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Monday, May 6. Kate and William congratulated them on their newborn’s arrival that day.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” the pair wrote on Instagram.
A source told Us Weekly exclusively that the seasoned parents, who share already Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 12 months, are “very excited” about their nephew’s birth.
Kate and William tied the knot in Westminster Abbey in April 2011.
