A family of five! After Duchess Kate gave birth to her third child on Monday, April 23, Prince William briefly left St. Mary’s Hospital in London to pick up the couple’s first two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, so that they could meet their newborn brother for the first time.
A beaming William, 35, waved to the crowd waiting outside of the hospital before telling reporters, “I’ll be back in a minute.” He then climbed into an SUV and headed to Kensington Palace. George, 4, attended school at Thomas’s Battersea as usual earlier in the morning, while Charlotte, who turns 3 next week, was at home with a nanny.
Upon their arrival, George looked adorable in his school uniform of a navy sweater and shorts, while Charlotte wore a cute light-blue dress and waved to the crowd.

As previously reported, Kensington Palace announced in a statement earlier on Monday that the Duchess of Cambridge “safely delivered” an 8 pound, 7 ounce baby boy at 11:01 a.m. local time with the Duke of Cambridge by her side.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well,” a spokesperson for the palace added. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The couple, who wed in April 2011, announced in September that they were expecting a third bundle of joy. Kate debuted her baby bump in a blue Temperley London dress the following month.
