Pregnant Jana Kramer was hoping to see pink confetti at her gender reveal. “I really did want another girl,” the country singer, 34, admitted to Us Weekly at a recent Carters and OshKosh B’gosh event in New York City.
Kramer, who shares 2-year-old daughter Jolie with her husband, Mike Caussin, grew up with an older brother. “I never had a sister and I’ve always been envious of people that have had sister relationships and so I kind of wanted that for her,” explained the One Tree Hill alum. “But now I’m like, ‘Tough luck girly, we’re having a boy’ and I’m excited.” (Watch the video above to hear Kramer open up about her reaction to the baby’s sex.)
The Whine Down With Jana Kramer host has discovered shopping for blue booties is way more fun than she expected. “My husband is like, ‘You’ve already spent more money on this baby boy than you have with Jolie’s clothes,” she told Us. “Boy clothes I think are just so cute! But he’s not going to be preppy. He’s going to be a stud.”
Meanwhile, Kramer and the former NFL player, 31, aren’t just preparing for the arrival of their son in November. They are getting ready to send Jolie to preschool. “I’m probably going to cry. I’ve been crying a lot more recently because she’s getting more independent,” the star revealed. “I’m so happy . . . but it also breaks my heart. She used to scream and cry when I would leave the house, and now she’s like, ‘Bye mama!’ And I’m like, ‘No, no, no. You are supposed to be screaming and not letting me leave the house.’”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in July that the couple, who tied the knot in 2015, are expecting a baby boy.
