The struggle is real for pregnant Amy Schumer. The comedian took to Instagram on Tuesday, November 27, to share a post of herself vomiting on the way to her stand up show in Tarrytown, New York — and revealed she needs to take a step back.
“Turn sound off if you have a weak stomach. This was my ride to my show at @tarrytownmusichall tonight and a picture from the end of my set,” Schumer, 37, began the emotional caption.
“I love doing stand-up more than anything and I hate cancelling shows,” the I Feel Pretty star continued. “I have to postpone some until I feel human again. But i will make up these dates and we will have a great time.”
Schumer went on to note that she’s “so proud of my stand up right now and can’t wait to share it.” As for those in attendance at her Tuesday night show, she added, “thanks to the amazing crowd tonight for being so warm and such great laughers and for being cool with my sweatpants and slippers on stage.”
Despite being sick, the New York native — who is expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer — also shared her enthusiasm for motherhood. ”But I’m so grateful and excited to be a mom,” she wrote. “I’m grateful I have access to healthcare, as we all should have.”
Schumer has been open about her struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum, a pregnancy complication characterized by severe nausea. She was hospitalized earlier this month and took to Instagram to update followers on her health status.
“I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I’ve been even more ill this trimester,” the Emmy winner penned alongside a pic of her in a hospital bed. “I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bulls–t! Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell!”
The Trainwreck star and the 38-year-old chef tied the knot in a surprise Malibu wedding in February. The couple announced in October that they are expecting.
