No sweet tooth this time! Natalie Portman stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show and dished on her pregnancy cravings in an episode that will air Wednesday, December 7.
The Jackie actress, 35, who is mom of 5-year-old Aleph with her husband, Benjamin Millepied, told Ellen DeGeneres that her cravings this time around are totally different than with her first pregnancy. “With [Aleph], it was very, like, I wanted cream puffs or any dessert with cream in it or just whipped cream straight. And this time it’s healthy, like pineapple, cucumbers, burritos, which are maybe less healthy,” she joked.
Portman revealed that she doesn’t know the sex of her second baby yet, so DeGeneres decided to make a bet on whether it will be a boy or a girl. During the Black Swan star’s first pregnancy, the comedian, 58, incorrectly predicted that Portman would have a girl.
“It is a girl. You want to make a bet?” DeGeneres asked, to which Portman replied, “It seems like it would be in my favor, since last time you were so, so wrong.”
The pair shook on it before they decided what they were betting on. While DeGeneres suggested $1,000, Portman said, “I was thinking pizza or burritos.” Ultimately, they agreed the winner would fork over $1,000 and buy a pizza.
The Oscar winner didn’t divulge any potential baby names, but she did explain the significance behind Aleph’s name. “It’s the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet,” she said. “It’s not really a name in Hebrew usually, but it has a lot of mystical, symbolic meanings, like humility, strength.”
