Laguna Beach alum Dieter Schmitz and his wife, Isabell Hiebl, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Saturday, September 8
“Isabell and I welcomed our baby boy, Nico Josef Schmitz, on 9/8/2018 at 9:10 AM!” he captioned an Instagram photo of mother and baby on Sunday, September 9. “May you make the world a better place and have a tremendously healthy and fulfilling life. We love you so much!”
Schmitz and his wife married in August 2016 at a ceremony attended by his former costars Lauren Conrad, Trey Phillips, Stephen Colletti and Loren Polster.
They announced they were expecting a little addition in March, sharing a photo of their French bulldog on Instagram holding a sign that read “Mom & Dad are getting me a human. Due: Sept 10, 2018.”
“Some exciting new from the Schmitz’s!!! Our family is growing!!!” he captioned the photo that also showed a sonogram pic and a sign that read “our greatest adventure begins September 2018.”
The couple announced their happy news at the same time as Schmitz’s costar Alex Murrell revealed she was expecting her second child with husband Kyle Johnson. She gave birth to son Kase on August 1.
Schmitz posted at the end of July that he and his growing family were moving from NYC back to his old stomping grounds — Orange County, California — and taking an epic road trip. “So great to be back,” he later wrote as he shared a picture of the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean.
