Proud parents! Kate Mara and Jamie Bell welcomed their first child together, the actress confirmed in a sweet Instagram post on Monday, May 27.
“We had a baby a couple weeks ago… Here are her feet,” Mara captioned a picture of the newborn’s tiny toes.
News broke in January that the House of Cards alum, 36, and her husband, 33, had a baby on the way. Page Six reported that the actress told Emily Blunt she was expecting as they waited in line for the bathroom at the Golden Globes.
Mara had her stomach covered in a flowy Miu Miu gown at the time, but put her budding belly on full display at Elton John’s 2019 Oscars after-party a month later. She posed for pics with Bell in a lacy white gown.
The Jumper actor already shares Jack, 5, with his ex-wife, Evan Rachel Wood, and Mara exclusively told Us how much she loves being a stepmom in July 2018.
“I come from a really, really big family and I’ve had kids around me my entire life,” she gushed. “Family is everything to me and I like being surrounded by lots of kids and family at all times.”
The New York native and Bell tied the knot in 2017, and their ceremony took place across the street at their neighbor’s house.
“When we couldn’t find anything we just asked the woman who owns the house across the street, ‘Do you mind if we do it there?’” Mara explained on The Late Late Show in January 2018. “And she was like, ‘Yes, that’s amazing. So we walked across the street and when it was done, we spent the night on the property and we crossed the street and came home.”
“I’m very protective of our marriage,” she raved about their romance to Shape magazine three months later. “All the traveling we both have to do for work can make it hard, but we have a rule that we will never go longer than two weeks without seeing each other. Even if we have to spend all day traveling to just have 24 hours together, it’s worth it in order to have a strong relationship.”
