Jeffrey Dean Morgan Shares Graphic Details About Delivering His and Hilarie Burton’s Kids

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not the guy who stands off to the side shielding his eyes during childbirth. The dad of Augustus, 8, and 7-week-old daughter George, delivered both his kids. Just as impressive: His wife Hilarie Burton said “no thanks” to an epidural.

The Walking Dead star, 51, has previously opened up about his key role in the delivery room  — but he didn’t spare a single detail during a Monday, April 9, appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

When Burton, 35, went to the hospital to have “Gus” in 2010, Morgan had no idea what was about to happen. “I thought I was just there to lend support, hold a leg . . . as soon as the baby started crowning, they kind of just pushed me in there,” the Rampage actor recalled on Monday. “I kind of waited too long to pull him out and he came out and his head was shaped like a cone. He got stuck in no man’s land a little bit too long.”

Morgan was a pro the second time around though. “I was ready and as soon as she crowned, I grabbed her a little by the cheeks and I pulled her out,” he raved. “Perfect.”

Though the hands-on father could probably deliver twins at this point, he’s getting a vasectomy. “We’re tapping out,” he quipped. “I’m 52. Two is perfect. A boy and a girl. We tried since Gus was born to have another and hit a rough go . . . lost a couple. It was an emotional ride. So now we have our little girl. We’re done.”

Both Morgan and the One Tree Hill alum have spoken about how they struggled for five years to have baby No. 2.

In a lengthy Instagram post in March, Burton revealed she had suffered miscarriages. “Fertility is a fickle thing,” she wrote at the time. “And for other couples out there who have had dark days we want to introduce our miracle baby to you and send you our love and support in finding yours.”
