“I’ve been keeping a shameful secret,” the Married at First Sightalum, 32, wrote on Instagram on Monday, May 20. “The only place I had the guts to share about it was in my book, Wifey 101. And boy, did I get backlash. It’s very controversial. Some women who read my book came right here to my page to spew the most hurtful words at me. They’ve called me all sorts of cruel names. I hate to admit it, but I caved to their hatred. I just couldn’t cope with it all, so I kept quiet about my truth.”
Referring to the six-week abortion ban passed by Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, Kentucky, Iowa and North Dakota, the former reality star went on to say, “I just cannot continue to sit in silence while women’s fundamental human rights are being taken away. I am speaking up for HER. I had an abortion. Twice. Is it something I’m proud of? Heck no! No one *wants* an abortion. It has left the most painful hole in my heart. But do I think women should be stripped of their right to choose? Absolutely not.”

In the social media upload, the “Hot Marriage, Cool Parents” host took a smiling selfie in a pink dress.
While the former TV personality was worried about the response her honest upload would get, she was pleasantly surprised.
“I spent 4 hours writing and re-writing this caption. This has been one of the scariest posts/truths I’ve ever shared. I was so fearful for the backlash…but there’s next to none,” Otis wrote. “Even if you don’t agree with me, you’re not hating on me. I want to thank the women who don’t necessarily agree with me for loving me anyway. We may not agree, but we can agree to disagree and love each other anyway.. I love you. I am thankful for YOU.”
