Pregnant ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Star Yvonne Strahovski Accidentally Reveals Her Baby’s Sex on Emmys Red Carpet

Pregnant Yvonne Strahovski rocked black at the 2018 Emmys, but The Handmaid’s Tale star is seeing blue!

Strahovski, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Serena on the Hulu series, accidentally revealed she is pregnant with a baby boy during her red carpet interview with E!’s Giuliana Rancic at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, September 17.

“I’m just gonna hold him in there hope for the best,” the 36-year-old told Rancic, before the host even asked about the baby’s gender.

Moments later, Strahovski added: “I just let it slip earlier didn’t I? Breaking news!”

The Chuck alum’s husband, Tim Loden, then chimed in: “It’s out! If it changes, we’ll let you know.”

Strahovski announced that she is expecting her first child in May. She told Rancic that she is due “any day.”

“I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news – I’m going to be a Mama!” she alongside an Instagram pic of her baby bump on May 11. “So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day! “

This is not the first time that Strahovski has let a secret slip on the Emmys red carpet. One year ago, Strahovski revealed she and Loden secretly tied the knot in Northern California over the summer of 2017 after more than six years of dating.

“We ended up jumping in the lake in our suit and gown, just to cool down,” she told E! News on the red carpet in September 2017. “It was ridiculously hot. But we had a great time.”

The Emmys air on NBC Monday, September 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
