Now that’s resourceful! Chrissy Tiegen admitted to Stephen Colbert that she’s been chatting to President Barack Obama about her baby-name dilemmas in the hope of influencing husband John Legend‘s opinions!
The sneaky mom-to-be made the admission during an appearance on The Late Show on Tuesday, March 1, revealing that while she’s really keen on one name for her future daughter, Legend’s concerned the name is a little too “Hollywood.”
“I asked Barack — we’re, like, very first-name basis,” Teigen said, laughing, as she chatted with her show host while making a Vietnamese summer roll from her new cookbook, Cravings. “I asked President Obama if he liked one of our name choices and he said he did,” she went on.
“I realized I should have came up with two so he could pick one because, you know, you’ve got to be nice about it if you give someone a name.”
When Colbert expressed surprise that Teigen would want the president of the Unites States to name her baby, the stunning 30-year-old explained her tactics. “I wanted to ask him because John isn’t sold on the name so I figured if [the president] liked it, then John would be sold on it. He says it’s too Hollywood.”
During her cooking spot on Colbert’s show, Teigen also revealed that her devoted husband was gearing up to take the whole summer off so he could be with his wife and newborn daughter.
“He’s getting ready for his paternity leave, all summer,” Teigen spilled. “The countdown is on — we’ve got mid-April,” she said of her daughter’s anticipated birthdate.
