The newborn has a name! Amy Schumer revealed her and Chris Fischer’s son’s moniker two days after giving birth.
“Gene Attell Fischer and his dad Chris,” the comedian, 37, captioned a Tuesday, May 7, Instagram upload. Fans are speculating that her bundle of joy’s name is a tribute to one of Schumer’s friends, comedian Dave Attell.
In the sweet father-son shot, the chef, 39, held the infant, who was swaddled in a white blanket. Fischer wore the same coral shirt he sported in Schumer’s Monday, May 6, birth announcement.
“10:55 pm last night,” the Emmy winner captioned the social media reveal. “Our royal baby was born.” (Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan welcomed their first child on Monday morning.)
Schumer and her husband announced in October 2018 that they were expecting their first child. The Inside Amy Schumer star documented her pregnancy journey on social media, opening up about the hyperemesis gravidarum she suffered from. This pregnancy condition is characterized by extreme nausea and dehydration.
“The baby and I are healthy and everything looks good. But I am in my 3rd trimester and I am still nauseous all the time and vomiting,” she revealed in February. “I have a pretty good attitude about it and some days I feel good for a couple hours. But mostly it’s [sic] sucks. I wanted to push through and do my shows. Because I hate letting people down and I love stand up and money! But more than that I have to think about my health and the baby.”
Two days before her son arrived, the actress shared a bare baby bump shot on social media. “Oh yeah does it feel to everyone like I’ve been pregnant for a long time?” the Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo asked her Instagram followers on Friday, May 3. “It must be getting annoying to you all that I’m still pregnant. Well imagine how I feel mother f–kers!!!!!! #soblessed.”
She and the Beetlebung Farm Cookbook author tied the knot in Malibu in February 2018.
