On January 1, Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs rang in the new year with an intimate Caribbean wedding. But the "Red High Heels" singer, 24, originally had a much larger wedding in mind.

"We were almost finished with planning, we had already done the cake and the flowers and all that," Pickler told Ellen DeGeneres on her show airing Wednesday. "And every time we got to the guest list, it was like, 'Oh my God, I hate half these people!'"

"It was perfect, because we didn't plan anything," continued Pickler. "I packed the wedding dress and he packed an outfit. We flew there and we didn't know what kind of cake we were going to get. We didn't know what food we were going to have…it was the most incredible day of my life."

The former American Idol contestant also told the daytime talker about how she had their wedding date (1-1-11) inscribed on Jacobs' wedding band along with the phrase, "Put it back on."

"Get it?" asked Pickler. "So if he takes it off and he looks at it, it's going to say, 'Put it back on!'"
