Madelyn Cline

Madelyn Cline was raised in Goose Creek, South Carolina, near Charleston where she was born. The southern belle spent her summers as a child in New York City, which is where she started acting in commercials.

Cline dropped out of college at the age of 19 to pursue a career in acting. She starred in Savannah Sunrise and The Jury in 2016 before appearing as a recurring character on Vice Principals, The Originals and Stranger Things the following year.

After playing Chloe in 2018’s Boy Erased, Cline got her big break when she landed the role of Sarah Cameron on Outer Banks. The teen drama premiered on Netflix in April 2020 and her fame increased soon after. She has since appeared in What Breaks the Ice and Once Upon a Time in Staten Island.

In June 2020, Cline confirmed that she was dating Outer Banks costar Chase Stokes. The pair met while filming the show in 2019, but Chase exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2021 that things didn’t turn romantic until the pair spent time together amid the coronavirus pandemic, which began in March 2020. The real-life couple showed off their chemistry while accepting the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards trophy for Best Kiss in May 2021.

Us confirmed in November 2021 that the pair called it quits after more than one year of dating.

Cline eventually moved on with Zack Bia and Jackson Guthy. Us exclusively confirmed in September 2023 that she sparked a romance with Pete Davidson.
