The highlight of Kristin Chenoweth's night at the Tony Awards Sunday in NYC: Tongue kissing her Promises, Promises costar Sean Hayes.
"The kiss came easy — and it was real, too!" she told UsMagazine.com Monday at the kick-off to Wendy's Father's Day Frosty Weekend event (June 19-20; learn more at frostycard.com) in NYC. "He's a very good kisser. And yes, I enjoyed myself. And yes, he had good breath!"
Chenoweth, 41, told Us she and Hayes, 39, came up with the idea to share a steamy smooch in response to a recent controversial Newsweek essay that claims that because Hayes is openly gay, he is not convincing as Chenoweth's on-stage husband in Promises, Promises.
Said Chenoweth, "We wanted to address the Newsweek thing, but we didn’t want to say it."
Chenoweth's only downfall at the show? "I wanted to meet Jay-Z and Beyonce, but I got really shy!" she told Us. "I am kind of weird about celebrities and I don't ever really know if they want to say hello to me. It’s this weird thing I have."
