Ethan Zohn is feeling good.
After battling a rare form of Hodgkin's lymphoma for over a year, the 36-year-old Survivor: Africa champ, former soccer pro and do-gooder recently announced that he is cancer-free.
"I woke up today and I'm on top of the world, which I was happy about!" Zohn told UsMagazine.com at Thursday's Star Power charity gala in NYC.
Zohn endured months of intensive chemotherapy and other treatments — including a stem cell transplant — to fight the potentially fatal disease.
"Right now, the cancer is in remission," Zohn explained. "I had 14 months of bad news and I just got some good news about a month ago."
To maintain his health, Zohn takes many preventative measures, he told Us. "I do a lot of I meditation, I visualize, I take lots of vitamins, I eat healthily, I exercise."
Zohn used his $1 million he won as the third Survivor victor to co-found Grassroots Soccer, an HIV/AIDS prevention program that connects professional soccer players with African youth. He leaves to attend soccer's World Cup — where he'll continue his Grassroots Soccer work — in London this Sunday.

Sadly, Zohn's father succumbed to cancer when Ethan was just 13. "I think I've had a good perspective on life having lost my dad to cancer," he told Us. "But when it happens to you, and your doctors try multiple ways of healing you that don't work, you panic," he admitted.
"I just crave survival," Zohn said. "Now that I am alive, I appreciate every day at its fullest and I treasure the legacy of my father and life in general."
