Vanessa Hudgens said goodbye to her late father, Greg Hudgens, on Tuesday, February 9, posting several moments from his memorial service; he passed away from a long battle with stage IV cancer on January 30.
The Grease: Live star, 27, shared several photos of the emotional moment via Snapchat, including a framed photo of the late firefighter in his uniform. The portrait itself was decorated with floral detail and looked as if it was propped up at his gravesite.
"Rest in peace daddy," Hudgens captioned the same image on her Instagram account.
Hudgens' father, who was 65 years old, died just one day before she was slated to portray Betty Rizzo on Fox's three-hour telecast of Grease: Live. Ultimately, the performer decided to move forward with the show and perform as a tribute to her late parent.
“It was incredibly hard for her," a source subsequently told Us Weekly of Hudgens' standout performance. "But she’s a true entertainer, so it was on with the show."
The Spring Breakers actress continued to mourn her father on social media, sharing a heartbreaking quote a week after her dad's death. It read: "I wish heaven had visiting hours," which she accompanied with her own caption. "If only…" the star wrote.
