Time for more father-daughter bonding! Vanessa Marano, who played Luke Danes’ (Scott Patterson) daughter, April Nardini, on Gilmore Girls, is returning for Netflix’s revival, Variety reports.
Marano joined the series in season 6, with Luke surprised to learn that he has a middle school-aged child. April’s presence, along with that of her mom, Anna Nardini (Sherilyn Fenn), complicated the diner owner’s relationship with Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), leading to their breakup in season 6.
Marano also starred on ABC Family’s Switched at Birth and had a recurring role on Showtime’s Dexter.
Other previously confirmed returnees include Graham, Patterson, Alexis Bledel (Rory), Liza Weil (Paris), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Keiko Agena (Lane), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Matt Czuchry (Logan), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess), Jared Padalecki (Dean), David Sutcliffe (Christopher) and Danny Strong (Doyle).
Following months of speculation, Netflix confirmed last month that it is bringing back the popular series, which ran for seven seasons before signing off in May 2007.
The update will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each centered on a different season, although the revival’s title and launch date have not been announced.
