To be a bee on that wall. After Taylor Swift clapped back at Kanye West during her 2016 Grammys Album of the Year acceptance speech on Monday, February 15, she ran into show presenter Beyoncé backstage at the Staples Center — and it was the sweetest reunion.
The black-and-white photo caught the megastars in action: Both ladies extend their arms sweetly and have wide grins on their faces as they reunite. Beyoncé, 34, seemed to have no hesitation about greeting Swift, 26, warmly even after the pop songstress obliterated Carter family friend Kanye West in the final moments of CBS’ live telecast.
It’s been more than a year since the two ladies were last publicly photographed together. In December 2014, Bey and her husband, Jay Z, along with other celebs like Justin Timberlake and Sam Smith, helped Swift celebrate her 25th birthday at her $20 million apartment in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood.
The two ladies, though, go way back to 2009, during that infamous MTV VMAs incident with, once again, West. In that now-iconic moment, West, 38, bum-rushed the stage during Swift’s speech for Best Female Video, grabbed the mic and said Beyoncé should’ve won in that category.
Later, a diplomatic Queen Bey won the coveted Video the Year award and memorably called Swift back on stage to let the then-country singer “have her moment.”
