Keeping it classy. Sylvester Stallone thanked his supporters following his surprising Oscar loss in a sweet Instagram post on Monday, February 29.
“To all the ‘real Rocky’s’ of the world, Please hang on to your dreams, NEVER GIVE IN , NEVER GIVE OUT , NEVER GIVE UP!” he captioned a photo of himself from the Dolby Theatre’s red carpet. “Thanks for the support.”
Stallone, 69, appears to be in fine spirits after the events of Sunday night. During the 88th Academy Awards, the Creed actor — who many believed was the frontrunner to win the best supporting actor category — lost to Bridge of Spies star Mark Rylance.
The Rocky star previously won at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards for his work in the boxing drama, which also stars Michael B. Jordan.

Stallone may be taking his loss in stride, but his younger brother, Frank Stallone, is a little peeved. Frank lashed out at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences over the upset via Twitter.
“The Academy should be ashamed of themselves. It’s as clear as the nose on your face that Sly won,” Frank posted on Monday morning. “Mark who? It’s total Hollywood bulls–t.”
Sylvester later reacted to his sibling’s comments. “Sorry, didn’t mean for this picture to go up before saying that I’m very happy and please understand my brother is so emotional because he is just very protective and only wants the best for me,” he wrote via Instagram. “Life is good!”
