A sweet tribute. Rory Feek shared a touching photo with his daughter and “little bundle of Joey,” Indiana, on Instagram on Saturday, March 26.
In the shot, the country singer, 49, is pictured holding onto the adorable 2-year-old, as they both smile from ear to ear.
“…My little bundle of Joey,” he captioned the post, as a salute to his late wife, Joey Feek.
Just one day earlier, Rory took to his blog, This Life I Live, to update fans on how he and Indiana have been coping with their lives without Joey since her tragic death earlier this month.
“Indy and I are trying to adjust to our new life at home,” he wrote. “To the empty chair at our table and pillow on the other side of my bed. Desperately missing Joey and carrying her in our hearts with us everywhere we go.”
Joey passed away at the age of 40 on March 4, after battling stage IV cervical cancer.
Rory also noted on his blog that Indiana recently started attending a new school.
“I have written before about our desire to live our lives with ‘high hopes and low expectations’ … but during the month of January, when Joey and I decided we needed to start researching what and where the next-best option for school for Indy might be … we had no idea that God would lead us to a place called, of all things … ‘High Hopes,’” he wrote.
The High Hopes center is a preschool and developmental center for children with special needs. The school is only 25 minutes away from the Feeks’ farm in Tennessee, so Indiana, who was born with Down syndrome, won’t have to travel very far.
