Feel that, Susan Sarandon? It’s called backlash. The Oscar-winning actress backtracked on her controversial comments from a Monday, March 28, interview with MSNBC — during which she suggested that Donald Trump would make a better president than Hillary Clinton — after several of her Hollywood peers, including Debra Messing and Jamie Lee Curtis, called her out on Tuesday.
Scream Queens star Curtis, 57, took to Twitter to respond to Sarandon’s interview with Chris Hayes on Monday. During the sit-down, 69-year-old Sarandon, a staunch Bernie Sanders supporter, remarked, “Well, you know, some people feel Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately. … If he gets in, then things will really explode.”
I respect but disagree with @SusanSarandon. A possible support of Trump over @HillaryClinton is dangerous 2 women, minorities & immigrants.

Of course I would never support Trump for any reason. If you watch the interview you’ll see that’s not what I said. https://t.co/wQk0cMmeyp

Curtis wasn’t the only one to call out Sarandon for the remark. “The idea that Susan Sarandon wud say that NOT supporting Hillary in a HRC/Trump race is a legitimate choice for Democrats, is insane,” Mysteries of Laura star Messing, 47, wrote on Tuesday night, which warranted another response from Sarandon.
.@DebraMessing For those passionate, principled independents & first-time voters who would not be voting (1/2)

.@DebraMessing if it weren’t for Sanders & whose interests HC doesn’t represent, it is a dilemma. (2/2)

To drive her point home, Sarandon pinned a tweet on her verified page, which has more than 350,000 followers, in which she disputed a report by The Hill.
LOL that I would ever vote Trump. https://t.co/pnENMgmbvm
