She’s got the moves! Gilmore Girls alum Melissa McCarthy showcased a whole other side to her talents on Monday, April 4, when she partook in an epic Lip Sync Battle with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and totally wiped the floor with him!
The 45-year-old actress looked on in amusement as Fallon opened the contest, flailing around the studio floor on a (fake) pair of new roller skates as he took on the classic song “Brand New Key.”
But McCarthy ripped the contest apart as she burst onto the stage moments later, baseball cap on her head, to blast her way through DMX’s “X Gon’ Give It to Ya.”
Proving herself to be an impressive dancer, the actress, who was wearing a pair of Mi Basket Sneakers from Diadora and ready for the energetic set, reduced Fallon to a stunned silence as she bounced around the stage, blasting out lyrics and enjoying every moment.
Next up, Fallon, 41, got a little romantic with Zayn Malik‘s “Pillowtalk,” complete with his very own pillow!
The show host started his interpretive performance by writhing around on the floor with his cushion, belting out sweet nothings into his prop. But although his energetic performance had the crowd going wild, it was McCarthy’s finale that really nailed it for her.
Throwing on a pair of safety goggles (the reason quickly became apparent), she performed a Disney classic, “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas.
Turned out McCarthy was at the mercy of the studio wind machine which started off flying a few leaves in her direction, and ended up chucking birds, feathers and all manner of green foliage and trash in her direction, fast!
