Authorities released a new video on Thursday, April 7, of one of the Brussels bombing suspects allegedly escaping the Brussels Airport during the awful attacks last month.
The new surveillance footage shows the suspect — “the man in hat,” whose name has yet to be confirmed — leaving the scene of the crime moments after the bombs went off. The man’s photo was originally released last month, and showed him in tandem with two other men — Najim Laachraoui and Ibrahim El Bakraoui — who blew themselves up in the check-in section of the airport.
Meanwhile, the brother of El Bakraoui, Khalid El Bakraoui, executed the bombings in the Brussels subway station located closest to the European Union’s headquarters.
In the new footage from the airport, the man in the hat walks past a hotel and a rental car lot in his bucket hat, pants, white shirt and cream-colored coat. He was subsequently spotted in the nearby town of Zaventem, where he was last seen wearing a brightly colored shirt with elbow patches. Then, he vanishes entirely.
Police appealed to the public to turn over any photos or footage that may help with their search for the man and their investigation of the March 22 attacks, which claimed 32 victims. Since the attacks, ISIS has taken responsibility.
Other suspects believed to be involved in the bombings include Mohamed B., 37, Yassine A., 30, and Aboubaker O., 28, all of whom are currently detained after their March 27 arrest, according to NBC News and BBC News.
