Tony Hale, who plays the loyal but browbeaten aide Gary Walsh to Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ Selina Meyer in HBO’s Veep, sat down with Us Weekly Video to talk about his role in season 5, how he breaks character (all the time!) and what the Seinfeld alum is like on set of the Emmy-winning comedy that returns Sunday, April 24.
Hale, 45, admits to Us that he’s the cast member who cracks up the most during filming, which does not go unnoticed by his costars.
Watch the interview for Louis-Dreyfus’ hilarious quip to him after he laughed in the middle of a certain scene.
The Arrested Development actor, who has nabbed two Emmys for his Veep role, has teamed up with M&M’s to become the “chief of staff” for the brand’s first-ever Flavor Vote, which pits M&M’s Peanut against three new flavored-nut varieties — Honey Nut, Coffee Nut and Chili Nut. Fans can vote until June 17 on the M&M’s Facebook page.
Check out the video above to hear what’s new for Walsh and Meyer’s professional relationship in season 5, along with how Louis-Dreyfus’ on-set behavior differs from that of other TV stars.
Veep returns to HBO Sunday, April 24, at 10:30 p.m. ET.
