Attention, moms and dads. There’s a new product coming on the market and it’s going to be a game changer. A San Francisco-based start-up has unveiled a robot that will fold clothes fresh out of the dryer. But start saving now: The FoldiMate, which is slated to be released in 2018, will cost you an estimated $850.
According to the company’s website, the 28x32x31-inch machine — designed to sit on top of the washer or dryer — takes just 10 seconds to fold each garment, and an additional 20 to 30 seconds to get rid of wrinkles using the steam function. Depending on fabric thickness, it can handle up to 20 items per load. Added bonus: there’s a softening and perfuming option!
See how it works:
But the device can’t help with larger items (think sheets) or smaller pieces such as underwear.
Foldimate CEO Gal Rozov tells Us Weekly that 50,000 people have already registered to learn when pre-orders will start, which the company plans to begin in 2017.
“The response has been amazing,” he tells Us. “We have had some very funny comments on the social networks, such as ‘shut up and take my money!’”
WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?! https://t.co/vzP2Znr8mW Could it be that our Jetsons Future is finally (almost?) here, in one small way?
