Well he did dive into an ill-fated marriage to Kim Kardashian, so perhaps it’s not surprising that Kris Humphries was once faster in the pool than Olympians Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.
Long before he was a professional baller and the ex-husband of the reality TV beauty, it turns out Humphries was a star swimmer.
He was only 10 years old at the time, but he held the fastest time in six events for the U.S back in 1995, beating a field that included Phelps, 31, and Lochte, 32.
The Atlanta Hawks star lead the pack in the 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter backstroke, 50-meter breaststroke, 200-meter individual medley and the 100-meter freestyle.
He even beat the 27-time Olympic medalist by a huge four seconds in the latter race.

The 31-year-old didn’t embark on a career in the water, insisting he started too young to stay focused.

Instead he went on to have success on the court.
That’s not to say he doesn’t still enjoy a swim from time to time, though. He posted a picture of himself in the pool on his Instagram last year with the caption: “Pool workout. Swimming isn’t that easy anymore.”
Humphries was famously married to Kardashian for just 72 days in 2011.
