Groovy, Mandy! Mandy Moore served up major ’70s vibes at the 2016 Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. on Sunday, September 18, thanks in part to her on-point locks.
The This Is Us star, 32, played up the vintage vibes of her marigold Prabal Gurung gown with soft curls. “When I saw Mandy’s dress, it reminded me of ’70s Parisian glamour,” Suave Professionals celebrity stylist Jenny Cho told Stylish. “To channel that, we decided to create knockout curls.”
After a brief discussion about updos, the pair decided to keep things laid back and ditch the bobby pins. “The option of putting her hair up was there, but we collectively decided [on] down,” she shared. “We wanted to keep the look relaxed.”
With that in mind, Cho, who also works with Jennifer Lawrence and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, got busy prepping Moore’s damp hair with Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Volumizing Souffle Mousse. She then blew out the Walk to Remember star’s tresses with a round brush and used a 1.25-inch Harry Josh 2-in-1 Ceramic Marcel curling iron. “To avoid dents, make sure to gently open and close the barrel while bending,” Cho told Stylish. “Then alternate the wave pattern.”

Afterward, Cho locked in Moore’s strands with Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Anti-Humidity Hairspray and let them cool for five to 10 minutes. She then brushed them out for an “undone texture,” and back-combed at the crown for volume.
